Working Out at Home
Home workouts are a great way to start exercising if you don’t feel confident enough the step into the gym. They are also a good option if you’re short on time or have to watch your kids at home. Finally, if you’re away on holiday and don’t have access to a gym, you can pack a few of these accessories to workout wherever you are.
All you need is a few accessories to enhance the intensity of your workout. All the pieces of home fitness equipment listed below can be found on Amazon for less than $50!
Home Fitness Equipment: What To Get?
1. Bosu Ball (or Balance Trainer)
You can find more affordable alternatives to the official Bosu Ball. This Balance Trainer helps you work on your balance and stability (squats with feet on the ball) but also your endurance (try to do some bosu ball burpees…).
Dumbbells are your go-to accessory to add a bit of resistance to any movement to make it more challenging. I would recommend getting a few sets of dumbbells of various weights for upper and lower body exercises. For instance here are two great shoulder exercises and here’s a dumbbell only leg workout.
4. Medicine Ball
Medicine Balls are also a great way to add resistance to your squats, lunges, ab exercises… Make sure to invest in a ball that has a very good grip.
You’ll use your mat for core exercises, stretching, yoga and relaxation. A real must-have!
7. Resistance Bands
Last but not least! Depending on your goals you can get the long resistance bands that are used for stretching and some strength exercises. Or you can get the small bands that are mainly used for glute activation and exercises.
